The Raiffeisenverband Südtirol
The Raiffeisenverband Südtirol was founded in 1960 in Bolzano. This association emerged from the merger of the National Association of South Tyrolean Agricultural Cooperatives and the Association of Raiffeisen Funds.
It is the umbrella organization of the South Tyrolean cooperatives, which are set up according to the "System Raiffeisen", which is based on cooperative principles.
The Raiffeisenverband is an association of interests and a legally recognized revision association. It is also a specialist association for Raiffeisen funds. It advises, supervises and monitors the member cooperatives and promotes their development. More than 300 employees work for this project every day.
With 365 cooperatives and corporations (125,581 individual members only in the case of cooperatives, 8,288 jobs, as of 31 December 2014), the Raiffeisen Association takes care of more than a third of all cooperatives in South Tyrol. They are authorized to use the green trademark, the "pediment".
